Eyelid surgery work
The blepharoplasty page describes three variations she performs (source):
- Upper blepharoplasty. Removes excess skin and fat from the upper lids through an incision in the natural eyelid crease; when upper-lid skin blocks peripheral vision, the page calls this a functional blepharoplasty.
- Lower blepharoplasty. Either a transcutaneous incision below the lash line or a transconjunctival incision on the inner lid, depending on whether excess skin or fat repositioning is the goal; fat is often repositioned rather than removed, to preserve under-eye volume.
- Combined upper and lower blepharoplasty, called a quad blepharoplasty on the page, done in one session.
The page also lists a brow lift as a common pairing with blepharoplasty, for brow descent that contributes to upper-lid heaviness (source).
- Upper blepharoplasty: case, case.
- Face and neck lift with upper and lower blepharoplasty and fat transfer: case, case.
Other procedures
The site lists facelift, neck lift, brow lift, chin implant and lip lift under face procedures, and breast and body procedures (breast augmentation, breast lift/reduction, tummy tuck, mommy makeover, liposuction, labiaplasty and others), plus non-surgical services (BOTOX, dermal filler, laser, skin care) (source, plasticsurgeondallastx.com).
Insurance and cost
- Functional blepharoplasty for documented visual-field obstruction may be partly insurance-eligible; the cosmetic component of the surgery stays out of pocket.
- Blepharoplasty typically runs $4,000 to $6,000, with the final figure set at consultation.
Recovery
Per the blepharoplasty page (source):
- Sutures come out at the 5-to-7-day follow-up.
- Most patients return to desk-based work toward the end of week 1.
- Most visible bruising resolves within two to three weeks.
- Exercise resumes around weeks 4 to 6, with clearance from Dr. Culver.
- Final results emerge months 3 to 6 as residual swelling resolves; scars fade for up to a year.
