Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. Conservative approach when done alone, incision placed in the natural eyelid crease, can be performed awake with topical numbing (source).
- Lower blepharoplasty. Transconjunctival, no-incision approach preferred, done under sedation; fat is removed without removing skin when possible (same page).
- Ptosis repair. Shortens the inside of the eyelid with dissolvable sutures, no external incision, minimal recovery time (same page).
- Fat grafting. Fat harvested from the belly or thighs, purified with the PureGraft technique, injected along the bony orbital rim (same page).
- Canthoplasty/canthopexy. Used to support the lower eyelid when a skin incision is made; the page notes it can alter eyelid shape unfavorably if not done carefully (same page).
Other procedures
Site homepage lists rhinoplasty, facelift, neck lift and hair restoration as other services, alongside facial plastic surgery generally (lamfacialplastics.com).
Insurance and cost
No procedure prices are published. The eyelid page states upper blepharoplasty costs less than lower blepharoplasty and can be an office procedure, while lower blepharoplasty and fat grafting add facility/anesthesia fees, and directs patients to call (972) 312-8188 for current pricing (source). The page states the practice does not accept insurance for cosmetic procedures (same page).
Recovery
- Back to work. A week off from work is advised after upper blepharoplasty; sutures come out 7 days after surgery (source).
- Swelling. Lower blepharoplasty recovery typically runs 7 to 10 days, with more first-week swelling than the upper procedure (same page).
- Vision/dry eye. About 20% of patients have blurry vision after surgery, usually resolving within a week; dry eyes are common after lower blepharoplasty and are managed with prescription eyedrops (same page).
