Eyelid surgery work
- Procedure. Under oral sedation or general anesthesia, excess skin is tightened and removed, fat may be repositioned and excess fat trimmed. Surgery takes one to three hours; patients go home the same day.
- Upper blepharoplasty. About one hour; incisions sit in the natural upper eyelid crease, redundant skin and protruding fat are removed, and fine sutures close the incision. It treats hooding that can block the field of vision.
- Lower blepharoplasty. About one hour; the incision is inside the lid or through the outer skin. Bulging fat is removed, and excess skin is treated with a small skin pinch excision, laser skin resurfacing or both.
- Transconjunctival approach. Used when there is little or no excess lower lid skin; the incision is inside the lid and leaves no visible scar.
- The page states that eyelid surgery usually cannot correct eyelid ptosis.
- Brow lift. Endoscopic brow lift through three to five small incisions; for a long forehead, Dr. Sepehr often uses a pretrichial lift through a trichophytic incision at the hairline, which can shorten the forehead and lower the hairline (source).

- No contact lenses for at least two weeks; no strenuous exercise for at least three weeks.
- Results typically last 10 to 15 years with sun protection and skin care.
- Brow lift: aerobic exercise after 2 weeks; no contact sports or weight lifting for 6 weeks; forehead numbness can last about one year (source).
