Training and board certification
- The site prints her name as "Anna Ivanovna Wooten, M.D., F.A.C.S." and calls her a "board-certified plastic surgeon"; it does not name the certifying board.
- Residency: a seven-year program in general and plastic surgery at UPMC's Department of Plastic Surgery.
- Member, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons and American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
- In private practice for over fifteen years.
- The site does not name her medical school.
Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. Removes overhanging skin through an incision in the existing upper eyelid crease; some fat may also be removed. The incision may extend into a crow's feet crease at the outer lid.
- Lower blepharoplasty. Removes fat pads and excess skin through an incision just below the lashes. She then lifts the orbicularis muscle to blend the lower lid with the cheek.
- Asian eyelid surgery. Creates an upper eyelid crease. The page describes the incision as made behind the lash line.
- Anesthesia. Upper blepharoplasty can be done in the office under local anesthesia. Lower blepharoplasty is done in an operating room under sedation. Either can be done under general anesthesia with other facial procedures such as a facelift.
- Revision. She sometimes sees patients from an upper blepharoplasty many years earlier who request a revision.
- Brow lift. She specializes in a "gliding" brow lift through 2-3 mm incisions in the hairline, which can be done under local anesthesia in the office. The endoscopic brow lift, for moderate to severe laxity, uses five small incisions beyond the hairline under general anesthesia (brow lift).
