- At Hardin Memorial she was a member of the Comprehensive Breast Cancer team; the page lists the organization's Highest Overall Patient Experience Award in 2019 and 2020.
- She is part of the Spartanburg Regional Comprehensive Breast Cancer team and founded Reconstruct the Runway, an annual event for breast cancer reconstruction patients.
- She completed 15 hours of continuing education at the 69th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.
Eyelid surgery work
- Blepharoplasty. The page describes removing or repositioning excess skin, fat and tissue on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids or both, for puffiness, sagging, fine lines, under-eye bulging or upper lids that block vision (eyelid surgery).
- Procedure. Outpatient, under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. Incisions are placed along the natural eyelid creases or inside the lower eyelid; the surgeon removes or repositions fat, trims excess skin, tightens the area and closes with fine sutures.
- Combined procedures. Eyelid surgery can be combined with a brow lift or facelift.
- Brow lift. The brow lift page describes elevating drooping brows and softening forehead lines and frown lines through incisions along the hairline or in natural creases, under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, in about one to two hours. Results can last 10 years or more (brow lift).
- The eyelid page refers to "our surgeons" and names no single surgeon. The practice gallery has no eyelid or brow lift cases (source).
The site has no page for ptosis repair, double eyelid surgery, canthoplasty or revision eyelid surgery.
Other procedures
Dr. Kerekes focuses on breast surgery and cosmetic and reconstructive work for the face and body. The practice lists facelift, ear surgery and facial fat grafting, breast reconstruction after cancer, breast augmentation, lift and reduction, tummy tuck, arm lift and liposuction. The facility is QUAD A accredited (source).
Insurance and cost
- Upper eyelid surgery may qualify for insurance coverage when the skin significantly blocks vision; a visual field test and photographs may be required. Cosmetic eyelid surgery likely will not be covered (eyelid surgery).
- "Cosmetic surgery is elective and therefore not covered by insurance." Estimated fees are discussed before surgery; financing is offered through Cherry, CareCredit and Alphaeon Credit (financing and insurance).
- The site publishes no prices.
Recovery
- First few days: swelling and discoloration are most noticeable; cold compresses and head elevation help.
- Light activities: most patients resume them within a week.
- 5-7 days: stitches are usually removed and most patients return to work or social activities.
- 2-3 weeks: bruising fades.
- 1-3 months: final results continue to improve.
- Brow lift: stitches or staples removed at week 1-2; return to work at week 2-3; most swelling resolves by 4-6 weeks.
