Eyelid surgery work
- Blepharoplasty. Corrects droopy, wrinkled upper eyelids and puffy under-eye bags by removing excess fat, skin and muscle, or by volumizing with fat transfer; can be upper, lower, or both. The site distinguishes functional blepharoplasty (vision obstruction, may be partially insurance-covered) from cosmetic blepharoplasty (source).
- Procedure. Upper eyelid incision in the natural lid crease; lower eyelid incision either below the lash line or transconjunctival (within the lid); excess tissue removed, muscle and skin tightened, fat repositioned or removed, closed with fine sutures.
- Brow lift / forehead lift. Addresses sagging eyebrows, horizontal forehead lines, frown lines and excess forehead skin that can push down on the upper eyelids; can restore visual function when brow drooping obstructs vision (source).
Other procedures
The practice also offers rhinoplasty, facelift/necklift (deep plane, SMAS, mini, ponytail), neck lift, chin augmentation, facial and neck liposuction, otoplasty, earlobe repair, Mohs reconstructive surgery, scar revision, facial trauma repair, lesion removal, laser skin resurfacing, skin tightening, Botox, PRP and dermal fillers (sultanfacialplastics.com).
Insurance and cost
Functional blepharoplasty (vision obstruction) may be partially covered by insurance; cosmetic blepharoplasty is not. The site states total cost depends on medical exams, surgeon's fee, hospital charges, garments, anesthesia and technique, but publishes no dollar figures (source).
Recovery
Patients need to arrange a ride home and cannot drive for a while after surgery; time off work is needed to rest and recover; eyelids must be kept moisturized with prescribed ointment and protected from sun exposure during healing (source).
