Eyelid surgery work

  • Blepharoplasty. Incisions are placed in the natural crease of the upper eyelid, below the lash line of the lower eyelid, or inside the eyelid without skin incisions. Upper lid surgery removes skin and sometimes fat; lower lid surgery may remove or redistribute fat and tighten the skin (source).
  • Upper blepharoplasty is an outpatient procedure under MAC anesthesia, with about 1-2 hours at the surgery center.
  • Ptosis. The page states droopy eyelids can be addressed with surgery that repairs the muscle ptosis or removes excess skin. Upneeq eye drops are offered as a non-surgical option that lifts the upper lids about 1-2 mm.
  • The page quotes Dr. Coan on telling brow descent from eyelid skin excess: if lifting the brow opens the eye, brow position is the problem.
  • Brow lift. Dr. Coan typically uses an endoscopic technique through small hairline incisions. The page also describes coronal and temporal (limited incision) brow lifts (source).

Galleries: the blepharoplasty gallery shows 9 patient cases (source) and the brow lift gallery shows 5 (source).

Other procedures

The site offers facelift, neck lift, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, facial fat grafting, breast and body surgery, and med spa treatments including Morpheus8, CO2 laser, chemical peels and injectables.

Insurance and cost

"If your vision is impacted by eyelid ptosis to a certain degree, a corrective procedure can oftentimes be covered under insurance." The practice states it is out-of-network with all insurance companies (source). The site publishes no prices. Financing is offered through CareCredit and PatientFi (source).

  • Bruising: about two weeks to subside; sleep elevated for about 2 weeks.
  • Blurry vision from lubricating ointment for about 3-5 days.
  • Exercise: avoid strenuous activity for 6 weeks.
  • Final result: most patients are fully healed by about 3 months, when final photos are taken.
