Eyelid surgery work
- The page lists reasons for eyelid surgery: dark circles or bags under the eyes, excess skin or wrinkles around the eyelids, and a tired or puffy look from inherited factors.
- Incisions are placed in the natural contours around the eyes. The surgeon usually treats the upper eyelids first, removing fatty tissue and tightening loose skin, then the lower eyelids to reduce puffiness and dark circles.
- Laser technology may be used to smooth the lower eyelid area, and Botox injections may be used for fine lines.
- The surgery generally takes about one to three hours and is performed in the physician's office. It is often combined with a facelift or rhinoplasty.
- The practice's page states that patient photos are not posted on the website and are reviewed during the consultation (before and after).
The site has no page for brow lift, ptosis repair, double eyelid surgery, canthoplasty or revision eyelid surgery.
Other procedures
The site lists facelift and earlobe surgery, breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reconstruction, body lift, liposuction, tummy tuck, Botox, Juvederm and laser skin resurfacing. The home page states he also treats breast reconstruction and body contouring after weight loss (source).
Insurance and cost
- The FAQ states insurance providers will often pay for eyelid surgery to remove sagging skin that blocks vision, and pre-certification is required for covered surgery (FAQ).
- Cosmetic surgery is generally not covered; the practice offers financing for procedures not covered by insurance.
- The site publishes no eyelid prices.
Recovery
- Post-operative instructions call for plenty of rest and limited movement; minor pain can be treated with oral medication (eyelid surgery).
- The page states healing for eyelid surgery is slightly longer than for most other forms of cosmetic surgery.
