Eyelid surgery work
The upper blepharoplasty page title names Dr. Gary and Dr. Parker Velargo; the procedure text on the eyelid and brow pages describes Dr. Velargo's approach.
- Upper blepharoplasty. Incisions in the natural upper lid crease; fat is removed or repositioned, skin trimmed and tissue and muscle tightened, under local anesthesia with sedation, in about one to two hours. The page states the procedure can preserve a single or low crease or create a crease for Asian eyelids (source).
- Lower blepharoplasty. Transconjunctival approach inside the lower lid to reposition or transpose fat, less often to debulk it, often combined with a skin pinch under the lashes or skin resurfacing in older patients (source).
- Brow lift. Endoscopic, trans-blepharoplasty (through the upper lid incision), lateral temporal, trichophytic, coronal, direct and mid-forehead lifts are described (source).
Galleries: 6 eyelid cases (source) and 6 brow lift cases (source). The case pages do not name the surgeon.
Other procedures
Her bio lists reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the face, nose, ears and neck, plus injectables and laser therapy. The practice also offers facelift, neck lift, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, facial feminization, hair transplant, and breast and body surgery by other surgeons.
Insurance and cost
The upper blepharoplasty page states the surgery is in some cases medically necessary when skin hangs into the field of view. The site makes no insurance or Medicare statement for eyelid surgery and publishes no prices.
Recovery
- Upper lid: bruising and puffiness peak at 48 to 72 hours; most return to light activity and work within a week; presentable within about 1 to 2 weeks (source).
- Lower lid: no strenuous activity or heavy lifting for two weeks; back to work in about one to two weeks; swelling can take several months to resolve; temporary blurred or double vision for a week or two after fat transposition (source).
