Eyelid surgery work
- Blepharoplasty. The practice page describes removing fat and excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids to correct drooping upper lids and puffy lower lid bags. Upper lid incisions follow the crease; lower lid incisions sit just below the lashes. The surgeon decides whether to treat all four lids or only the upper or lower, and whether to remove fat only or also skin and muscle (blepharoplasty).
- The consultation includes a vision test and tear production assessment. Patients with a detached retina or glaucoma should first check with their ophthalmologist.
- The page states blepharoplasty will not remove crow's feet, dark under-eye circles or lift sagging eyebrows. It can be combined with facelift or brow lift.
- Lower eyelid surgery. A practice blog post describes removing some lower lid fat and repositioning the rest for a smooth surface (lower eyelid surgery).
- A patient testimonial describes Dr. Heinrich performing blepharoplasty on both eyes in 2016 to correct a drooping eyelid that impaired vision (testimonials).
- The upper blepharoplasty gallery shows one before-and-after case, with no surgeon named (upper-blepharoplasty gallery).
Other procedures
The brow lift page describes an endoscopic brow lift through three to four small incisions in the hairline, temple and scalp incisions for a low brow, and an ear-to-ear incision behind the hairline (source). The practice also offers facelift, rhinoplasty, chin and cheek surgery, cleft lip and palate repair, breast, body and skin procedures (source).
Insurance and cost
- Severe upper eyelid sagging that reduces the field of vision may be covered by insurance. A physician note documenting the resting lid position and vision loss is required (insurance blog).
- Consultations for cosmetic and skin services are complimentary; for other procedures patients pay any health insurance co-pay or deductible (blepharoplasty).
- The site publishes no prices. Cost depends on surgeon's fees, hospital charges, anesthesia and the techniques used.
Recovery
Occasionally patients have double or blurred vision for a few days after surgery, with temporary swelling or slight asymmetry in healing (blepharoplasty).
