Eyelid surgery work
- Upper eyelids. The incision begins in the natural crease at the inside corner and extends slightly past the outside corner into the crow's feet; excess skin and fatty tissue are removed.
- Lower eyelids. The incision is usually just below the lower lashes; excess skin and fat are removed. Fat beneath the eye can be redistributed to remove puffiness or bulges. In some patients the underlying muscle is tightened, or fat is removed from inside the eyelid without a skin incision.
- The page states eyelid surgery can treat drooping lower lids and upper lid skin that sometimes impairs vision.
- Surgery is done in the practice's accredited in-house surgical suites, generally takes 1-2 hours, and is followed by at least one hour in the recovery room.
- A sagging brow may be treated with a forehead lift (limited incision, endoscopic or coronal). Crow's feet are directed to Botox or laser resurfacing, and dark circles to lasers, peels and skincare.
- Forehead (brow) lift. Lifts muscles and skin to smooth the forehead, raise the upper eyelids and reduce frown lines; can be combined with facelift, eyelid surgery or nose surgery (source).
Gallery: the eyelid surgery gallery shows upper and lower eyelid cases for women and men and is labeled as Illume patient results; it does not name the surgeon for each case (source). The site has no page for ptosis repair, double eyelid surgery, canthoplasty or revision eyelid surgery.
Other procedures
The practice lists facelift, neck lift, nose surgery, lip lift, otoplasty, ear lobe repair and hair restoration, breast and body surgery, gender affirming surgery, injectables, lasers and skincare (source).
Insurance and cost
- For procedures billed through insurance, the eyelid page states costs vary by the contract terms of each insurer and advises patients to contact their carrier (source).
- Out-of-pocket surgical consultations are $100, applied to surgery booked within 6 months.
- Eyelid surgery is priced individually; the site publishes no procedure price. Financing through CareCredit (6 months interest-free), Alphaeon, Prosper and CosmetAssure.
Recovery
- Eyelid surgery results appear gradually as swelling and bruising subside (source).
- Brow lift: keep the head elevated for two to three days; bruising and swelling begin to fade in about a week; most stitches or clips come out in 10 to 14 days; scalp numbness may take up to six months to resolve (source).
