Eyelid surgery work
Procedure text on the eyelid and brow-lift pages describes the practice's service generally, not Dr. Kuy individually ("Your surgeon will discuss with you which procedure is best suited for you"); the practice also has a second board-certified plastic surgeon, Gina Maccarone, MD, FACS.
- Transconjunctival blepharoplasty. Incision inside the lower eyelid to remove excess fat causing under-eye puffiness; rarely needs sutures and leaves no visible scar (source).
- Transcutaneous blepharoplasty. Incision just below the lash line to remove excess fat and skin, closed with fine sutures (same page).
- Upper blepharoplasty. Incision along the upper-eyelid crease to remove excess fat and skin; usually paired with lower eyelid surgery (same page).
- Brow lift. Endoscopic technique with small (3/4 inch) hairline incisions to reposition the brow and tighten forehead skin; a Pretrichial forehead lift option for patients with high foreheads and sagging brows, using temple and anterior-hairline incisions (source).
Other procedures
The practice also offers facelift, rhinoplasty, facial implants, and breast and body procedures (drkuy.com).
Insurance and cost
No insurance, Medicare or price statement for eyelid surgery is published on the pages checked.
Recovery
All from source:
- Swelling. Cold compresses used for the first two days to reduce swelling and bruising.
- Back to work. Patients often resume daily schedules after two days, avoiding strenuous activity for 1 week.
- Sutures out. Removed after one week.
- Final result. The effects of eyelid surgery "usually last an entire lifetime."
