Eyelid surgery work

  • Blepharoplasty. Dr. Sines removes excess or loose eyelid skin and reduces prominent fat pads, for appearance and to improve the visual field (oculoplastics; aesthetics).
  • Eyelid malpositions. The oculoplastics page lists repair of entropion (turned-in eyelid), ectropion (turned-out eyelid), eyelid retraction, with a weight implanted in the eyelid to help it close, and droopy eyelids (ptosis).
  • Conditions treated. Ptosis, entropion and ectropion, dermatochalasis, lid lesions, small skin cancers, blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm, and mild thyroid eye disease.
  • Eyelid growths. Biopsy of eyelid lesions, treatment of styes, and eyelid reconstruction following Mohs surgery.
  • Misdirected eyelashes. Lash removal, hyfrecation and cryotherapy, or eyelid surgery for an inward-turned eyelid.
  • Brow and forehead lift. Performed at the practice surgery center, and may be combined with eyelid surgery (aesthetics).

The practice site has no before-and-after gallery page.

Other procedures

The oculoplastics page lists tear duct surgery (dacryocystorhinostomy or DCR), Jones tube placement and tear duct stents for watery eyes, and orbital surgery: removal of blind or painful eyes, biopsy and removal of orbital tumors, and reconstruction. The aesthetics page lists BOTOX Cosmetic, dermal fillers, LATISSE and EltaMD skincare. Other BoozmanHof physicians provide cataract, LASIK, glaucoma, retina and cornea care.

Insurance and cost

The site publishes no eyelid surgery prices and no statement on insurance or Medicare coverage for eyelid surgery. The financing page lists CareCredit and Alphaeon financing and flexible spending or health savings accounts for elective procedures (financing).

Medicare eyelid operations, 2022 to 2024

From CMS, Medicare Physician and Other Practitioners by Provider and Service, NPI 1508028218. Medicare pays only when the lids block vision, so these are the medical cases. Cosmetic eyelid surgery is paid by the patient and is not in this record. CMS leaves out any code billed fewer than 11 times in a year.
