Eyelid surgery work
The blepharoplasty page states the procedure is performed by Dr. Soares at VIP's accredited on-site ambulatory surgical facility, often awake without general anesthesia (source):
- Upper blepharoplasty. Two incisions in the upper eyelid, fat removed if necessary, excess skin removed, incision hidden in the eyelid crease.
- Lower blepharoplasty (transconjunctival). Performed through the inside of the lower eyelid to reduce fat pads; if excess skin is also present, a small segment is removed with an incision just below the lower lashes.
- Recovery: bruising and swelling expected, subsiding within a few days, with any remaining swelling gone after a few weeks.
- Insurance: patients with visual impairment from excess eyelid skin can sometimes get partial insurance coverage, but VIP does not accept insurance directly; financing plans are offered instead.
Other procedures
VIP is a group practice; the site also names Dr. Christina Yi, MD, a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon. The practice offers facelift, deep plane facelift, fat transfer, cheek implants, necklift, brow lift, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, chin augmentation, breast surgery, body contouring, and medspa/injectable services. The practice site has no canthoplasty, ptosis-specific, or double-eyelid pages in this slice.
Insurance and cost
Insurance may cover a percentage of cost when excess eyelid skin causes visual impairment, but VIP does not accept insurance directly; low-interest financing plans are offered. No specific price figures for eyelid surgery are published.
