Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. Incision in the natural upper-eyelid crease; excess skin and fat are removed to treat "hooding" and restore a smoother contour (blepharoplasty).
- Lower blepharoplasty. Incision just below the lash line; herniated (bulging) fat is repositioned or removed to treat under-eye bags (same page).
- Transconjunctival blepharoplasty. An alternate lower-eyelid technique using an incision inside the lid (same page).
- Performed as an outpatient procedure, usually under local anesthesia with IV sedation; the page notes eyelid surgery is among the top five cosmetic surgical procedures performed in the US, per ASPS (same page).
Other procedures
The practice also offers facelift, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, lip enhancement, brow lift, neck liposuction, chin implant, earlobe repair and facial fat transfer, along with breast and body-contouring procedures (source).
Insurance and cost
No insurance or Medicare statement for eyelid surgery is published. The blepharoplasty page states: "the cost of a blepharoplasty starts at $3,500 and go up to $12,050," varying by whether upper, lower, or both lids are treated and whether combined with another procedure. Financing plans are offered.
Recovery
- Swelling. Significant bruising and swelling, with red discoloration, is expected immediately after surgery, fading from red to purple to yellow over time (blepharoplasty).
- Back to work. Most patients return to light normal activities within a few days (same page).
- Bruising. Most swelling and bruising resolves within two weeks; makeup can conceal visible scars during this time (same page).
- Contact lenses. Can be worn again after ten to fourteen days (same page).
