Eyelid surgery work
The eyelid-surgery and brow-lift pages describe the practice's oculoplastic service generally; Dr. Weinberg is the only oculoplastic/oculofacial surgeon named in that section of the site.
- Upper blepharoplasty. Incision on the eyelid fold; excess fat, skin and muscle removed (source).
- Lower blepharoplasty. Incision in the natural eyelid crease or lower lid; excess skin, fat or muscle removed or repositioned (same page).
- Ptosis repair. Performed alongside blepharoplasty when the upper lid sags near the pupil, to give the eyelid-lifting muscle more support (same page).
- Brow ptosis repair. Forehead lift, direct brow lift, or internal browpexy to lift a droopy brow (same page).
- Brow lift. Corrects sagging skin in the eyebrows and upper eyelids; both cosmetic and functional indications (source).
Other procedures
Botox and dermal fillers, intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments, thyroid eye disease management, entropion and ectropion repair, eyelid reconstruction, eyelid lesion/skin cancer treatment, orbital tumor and fracture surgery, and clogged tear duct treatment (themedicaleyecenter.com).
Insurance and cost
Brow ptosis repair "might be covered by your health insurance if the brow's abnormal position has affected your peripheral vision" (source). The practice "handles most major insurance carriers" and accepts all major credit cards if a procedure is not covered (insurance). No procedure prices are published; CareCredit financing is offered for procedures not commonly covered by insurance (financing).
Recovery
- Swelling. Blepharoplasty: swelling, bruising, discomfort and numb eyelids are common; most symptoms resolve after about a week (source).
- Bruising. Blepharoplasty: most swelling or bruising resolves after about 2 weeks; scars may take several months to fade (same page).
- Sutures out. Brow lift: sutures removed within one to two weeks (source).
