Eyelid surgery work
Procedure pages describe the practice generally, not Dr. Schlachter individually.
- Upper blepharoplasty. Removes excess upper-eyelid skin; 30-45 minutes under local anesthesia with sedation (blepharoplasty).
- Lower blepharoplasty. Removal or repositioning of herniated fat and/or excess skin; can be paired with Fractional CO2 laser skin tightening; distinguishes true eyelid bags from festoons (source).
- Forehead/brow lift. Endoscopic technique preferred to minimize scarring; direct brow elevation offered when the goal is only to improve visual function; often combined with blepharoplasty (source).
- Ptosis repair. Surgical repair of the levator tendon that holds the eyelid up; can improve peripheral vision (source).
- Entropion and ectropion repair. Surgical correction of inward- or outward-turning eyelids caused by tendon laxity, trauma, scarring or facial nerve paralysis (source).
- Eyelid reconstruction. Most often follows Mohs surgery for eyelid skin cancer; uses skin grafts (from behind the ear, eyelids, forehead or elsewhere) or local skin flaps; also used for severe ptosis, entropion and ectropion (source).
Other procedures
Thyroid eye disease (Graves' ophthalmopathy) treatment, orbital tumor and fracture surgery, blocked tear duct repair, eyelid lesion/skin cancer excision, BOTOX and dermal fillers, and skin tightening with Fractional CO2 laser (eyelidpros.com).
Insurance and cost
Per-procedure insurance fields on the site: upper blepharoplasty, ptosis repair and entropion/ectropion repair are each listed as "Depends on Condition"; lower blepharoplasty and forehead/brow lift are each listed as "Uncovered" (blepharoplasty, source, source). No procedure prices are published; the practice offers CareCredit financing (financing).
