Eyelid surgery work
- Blepharoplasty. The page describes removing excess skin, fat and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. Upper and lower lids are usually treated together but either can be done alone, with or without a facelift or brow lift (source).
- Lower lid fat can be removed through an incision behind the lower lid with no skin scar. This approach does not remove loose skin, so laser, peel or dermabrasion resurfacing can be added. When loose skin needs removal, the incision is made in the skin below the lower lashes.
- The page states lower lid surgery does not treat the fluid swellings that form over the cheekbones.
- McCollough Classification System. Four stages, from Stage I (early bulges, often treated from behind the lower lid) to Stage IV (upper lid skin pushing the lashes down and blocking the field of vision).
- Brow lift. Three approaches: direct brow lift through an incision above the eyebrow, the approach the page names as most common for men; forehead or temporal brow lift through incisions behind or at the hairline; and brow lifting performed with the temporal or forehead portion of a facelift (source).
Gallery: the practice gallery has Eyebrow Lift and Eyelid Surgery tabs with captioned cases, including bilateral upper lid blepharoplasty with direct brow lift and lower lid retraction cases. Captions do not name the operating surgeon (source).
Other procedures
The site lists facelift, facial tuck-up or mini lift, neck lift, rhinoplasty, cheek and chin augmentation, lip enhancement, ear surgery, scar revision, skin cancer repair and skin resurfacing, plus breast and body procedures and medical-grade skincare (face).
Insurance and cost
The eyelid and brow pages state nothing about insurance or Medicare and publish no prices. The site has a financing page (source).
Recovery
- Swelling and discoloration: most usually subsides within 7 to 10 days.
- Routine living: possible after a few days with cosmetics and sunglasses.
- Scars: after several months, in most cases perceptible only on close scrutiny.
- Brow lift: cold compresses for the first 12 to 24 hours; return to work after four or five days, or about one week (source).
