Eyelid surgery work

  • Upper blepharoplasty removes excess skin to improve hooding. Lower blepharoplasty reduces under-eye bags. Fat in either lid is removed or repositioned.
  • Incisions are made with a CO2 laser in the natural creases, in the lower conjunctiva or along the lash line. The page states the laser incises in a nearly bloodless field and seals nerve endings.
  • Browpexy is an internal brow support done with upper blepharoplasty. Canthopexy tightens the lower lid to improve support, reduce scleral show and help dry eye symptoms.
  • CO2 laser skin resurfacing of the eyelid and peri-ocular skin can be added.
  • Duration is one to three hours under general anesthesia or twilight sedation. Patients are first cleared by an optometrist or ophthalmologist.
  • The page states Dr. Zimmerman has performed these procedures for over two decades.
  • Temporal brow lift. Beveled incisions inside the temple hairline let the skin be released from the fascia above the orbit and anchored higher, lifting the tail of the brow. It can be combined with blepharoplasty or facelift (source).
  • Gallery. The upper blepharoplasty gallery category shows one patient case (source).

Other procedures

The practice offers facelift and lower face and neck lift, liposuction with Renuvion, CO2 laser resurfacing, body contouring, genital procedures, regenerative treatments, lasers, fillers and neurotoxins (aestheticrevolutionlv.com).

Insurance and cost

  • The eyelid page describes cosmetic blepharoplasty. It states that ptosis repair, reattaching the muscle that lifts the upper eyelid, "would usually be performed by a surgeon who works with your insurance."
  • The site publishes no eyelid surgery prices.

Recovery

  • Blurred vision and mild double vision can be present the first night; bloody tears and incision discharge are normal.
  • Initial recovery takes one to two weeks; sutures come out at 5 to 7 days and bruising is usually resolved at 2 weeks.
  • Full activity resumes at 3 to 4 weeks.
  • Incisions continue to remodel for up to a year.
  • Nicotine is avoided for 4 to 6 weeks before and after surgery.
