Eyelid surgery work
- Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty). The practice page covers upper, lower or combined eyelid surgery to reduce drooping and excess skin around the eyes. The surgeons prefer local anesthesia with sedation, in the office or a licensed surgical center in the Kansas City area. Incisions follow the natural contours of the upper eyelid, lower eyelid or both; tissue is removed or repositioned and the incisions are closed with sutures. Eyelid surgery can be combined with a facelift or neck lift, and a forehead lift is suggested for brow concerns (source).
- Brow lift. Described as treating a low or sagging brow, frown lines and forehead creases, often with eyelid surgery or facelift, performed at a licensed surgical center (source).
Gallery: the practice's blepharoplasty gallery filtered to her cases shows seven before-and-after cases credited to Dr. Killion, labeled upper blepharoplasty, upper and lower blepharoplasty and quad blepharoplasty (blepharoplasty-eyelid, Dr. Killion). Her gallery index has no brow lift category (source).
Other procedures
Her profile lists breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, abdominoplasty, labiaplasty, liposuction, facelift and breast reconstruction. Her gallery index also includes neck lift, lip lift, arm lift and mommy makeover categories.
Insurance and cost
- The financing page states that in most cases cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance and fees are paid in full two weeks before surgery; a written fee quote is given when the procedure is scheduled (source).
- The eyelid page states cost depends on upper, lower or both, with a detailed quote at consultation and financing available. The site publishes no prices.
Recovery
- Head kept elevated until initial swelling subsides; sunglasses protect the eyes from light, sun and wind.
- Swelling, bruising, irritation or dry eye symptoms are expected.
- Most patients return to light activity, often including the office, within a few days.
- Initial wound healing takes 5 to 10 days, when contact lenses may be resumed.
- Final results develop over several weeks; incision lines may take up to a year to fade.
