Eyelid surgery work
- Blepharoplasty. Incisions sit in the natural upper lid crease or along the lower lash line. Through them Dr. Dayan removes excess skin, repositions or removes fat and tightens underlying tissue. When only fat removal is needed in the lower lid, he may use a transconjunctival incision inside the eyelid (blepharoplasty).
- Surgery is outpatient, often under local anesthesia with sedation in the office; general anesthesia may be used when combined with other procedures. It takes one to two hours.
- Ptosis repair. For muscular ptosis he typically strengthens or tightens the levator muscle through a crease incision, sometimes removing excess skin; about 45 minutes per eye. The page states repair is sometimes recommended for children (source).
- The site also has pages for excess eyelid skin removal, eyelid lift and male eyelid surgery (source, source, source).
- Brow lift. Coronal, limited-incision temporal, endoscopic, and radiofrequency-assisted lift with the AccuTite device by InMode. The page states he typically uses the temporal or radiofrequency-assisted approach (source).
Galleries: upper blepharoplasty and lower blepharoplasty before-and-after galleries (upper, lower).
Other procedures
The site lists deep plane and revision facelift, mini facelift, midface lift, forehead reduction, facial implants, fat transfer, breast and body surgery, Mohs reconstruction, osteoma removal and radiofrequency skin tightening (avanceplasticsurgery.com).
Insurance and cost
- When drooping eyelids affect vision, insurance may cover part or all of the procedure, and the team helps with documentation (blepharoplasty).
- The practice is out of network with all insurance companies; brow lift and blepharoplasty may be covered when medically necessary (source).
- Prices are sent by email after a contact form; the site publishes no price.
Recovery
- Light activity such as reading resumes within a few days; most people return to work within a week (blepharoplasty).
- Bruising and swelling: typically resolve within two to three weeks.
- Ptosis repair: avoid work and activity for five to seven days; eye drops and lubricant afterward; bruising can last two to three weeks (source).
- Brow lift: back to work or school in seven to ten days; sutures out within a week; no strenuous activity for about three weeks (source).
