Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. Removes extra skin that creates a hooded upper lid, including skin that affects vision. Performed as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia or IV sedation, with the incision in the natural crease of the upper lid.
- Lower blepharoplasty. Removes excess or protruding fat from under-eye bags, tightens sagging lower lids and reduces lower lash line wrinkles. The page states it can be performed through a transconjunctival incision inside the lower eyelid.
- Combined upper and lower blepharoplasty. Offered for patients with both upper and lower lid concerns.
- Steps listed: marking incision sites, small incisions along the upper lids or lower lash line, removing excess skin and fat, and closing with fine sutures. Patients go home the same day with cold compresses.
- Combinations named on the page: blepharoplasty with brow lift, with facelift, and lower blepharoplasty with fat transfer or cheek implants.
- Listed risks: dry eyes, temporary swelling and bruising, double vision or temporary discomfort.
- Brow lift. The page describes three approaches: endoscopic brow lift through small hairline incisions, temporal (limited) brow lift under local anesthesia, and coronal (classic) brow lift under general anesthesia with an ear-to-ear incision across the crown. Bruising and swelling may remain for about a week to ten days; patients may return to work within two weeks (source).
- Gallery. The eyelids gallery shows two before-and-after image sliders (eyelids gallery).
The site has no separate page for ptosis repair, double eyelid surgery, canthoplasty or revision eyelid surgery.
Other procedures
The site lists facelift, vertical facelift, neck lift, lip lift, cheek implants and cheek lift, otoplasty, rhinoplasty, FaceTite and skin resurfacing, plus breast, body contouring, hand surgery and medical spa services (facial procedures).
Insurance and cost
- Insurance coverage depends on whether the procedure is medically necessary or cosmetic. If droopy eyelids or excess skin interfere with vision, insurance may cover upper eyelid surgery as a functional procedure; lower blepharoplasty for appearance is typically not covered (blepharoplasty page).
- The practice accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana. Patients using Medicare are asked to come with a referral from their primary care physician or specialist (financing and payment options).
- The brow lift page states a forehead lift is cosmetic and medical insurance does not pay for it.
- No eyelid price is published. Cost depends on upper, lower or combined surgery, the type of anesthesia and added procedures; an estimate is given at consultation. The brow lift page cites an American Society of Plastic Surgeons average of $3,900, not a practice fee.
Recovery
- Healing: typically one to two weeks.
- Swelling and bruising: the first few weeks; cool compresses help.
- Comfort: mild discomfort managed with pain medication.
- Care: avoid eye makeup, herbal supplements and heavy sun exposure during recovery.
- Final result: continues to improve over several weeks.
