Eyelid surgery work
The eyelid page (source) describes blepharoplasty of the upper lids, lower lids or both:
- Surgery is generally performed under local anesthesia with sedation and takes an hour and a half to three hours, depending on the extent.
- Incisions follow the natural folds: in the upper lid crease and just below the lashes of the lower lid. The skin is separated from the underlying tissue, and excess skin and fat are trimmed. The incisions are closed with very thin stitches.
- Conditions treated include loose upper lid skin that obscures vision and excess skin, bags or fine wrinkles of the lower lids.
- Upper blepharoplasty addresses sagging skin, excess fat and drooping lids. Lower blepharoplasty addresses under-eye bags, puffiness and wrinkles.
- The page states eyelid surgery can correct minor asymmetry and is often combined with facelift or forehead lift.
Brow lift. The brow lift page (source) describes a two- to three-hour outpatient procedure under local anesthesia, using scalp incisions to lift the forehead and brows. The endoscopic brow lift page uses 4 to 5 scalp incisions each under an inch long; sutures come out within a week and staples at about 2 to 3 weeks (source). The temporal brow lift uses smaller incisions around the temples to lift the outer brow in a 1.5 to 2 hour procedure (source).
Galleries: the eyelid gallery shows 5 cases (gallery blepharoplasty-eyelids). One case shows upper and lower blepharoplasty photographed 3 weeks after surgery (case 13574742). The brow lift gallery shows 1 case (gallery brow-lift).
Other procedures
The site lists face lift, neck lift, neck liposuction, rhinoplasty, chin augmentation, ear surgery, facial fat grafting and scar revision. It also lists breast surgery and breast reconstruction, body contouring and med spa treatments (source).
Insurance and cost
The eyelid page states the cost depends on whether the upper, lower or both lids are treated and on added procedures such as fat grafting. A personalized quote at consultation includes the surgeon's fee, facility and anesthesia costs and post-operative care. Financing is offered through CareCredit and ALPHAEON Credit. The site publishes no eyelid price and makes no statement about insurance or Medicare (source).
Recovery
- Discomfort and tightness around the eyes for a few days, with mild swelling and bruising; head elevation reduces swelling.
- Sutures are removed within a week for most patients.
- Work and social activity resume about 10 days after surgery.
- Strenuous exercise is avoided for several weeks.
