Eyelid surgery work

  • Blepharoplasty. Dr. Lefkovits removes excess skin and fat from the upper and lower lids; all four lids can be corrected in the same procedure. Fat from the lower eyelids or elsewhere can be relocated to fill hollowness under the eyes (blepharoplasty).
  • Incisions. The upper lid incision sits in the upper eyelid crease. The lower lid incision sits just below the lashes or on the inside of the eyelid (transconjunctival approach).
  • Indications listed. Drooping skin that creates folds, obstructs vision or changes eye shape, and lower eyelids that droop and expose the white of the eye below the iris.
  • Setting. Performed in the practice's surgicenter, normally under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation.
  • Men. A separate page covers male blepharoplasty with the same incisions and fat relocation (source).
  • Complementary procedures. Botox for brow furrows and crow's feet, forehead lift to raise the brows, and laser resurfacing for fine wrinkles on and around the eyelids.
  • Galleries. An eyelid surgery gallery with 12 cases (source) and a male eyelid surgery gallery with 3 cases (source).

Other procedures

The site lists facelift, short scar mini facelift, rhinoplasty including ethnic and revision rhinoplasty, chin implants, ear surgery, earlobe repair, fat transfer to the face, neck liposuction and eyebrow transplantation, plus breast augmentation, Brazilian butt lift, tummy tuck, mommy makeover, gynecomastia and hair restoration (source, bio).

Insurance and cost

The eyelid pages publish no price. The insurance page lists out-of-network insurance acceptance for breast reduction, excision of cysts, lipomas, skin growths and skin cancers, and reconstructive procedures; it does not name eyelid surgery (insurance). Financing is offered through ALPHAEON Credit, United Medical Credit and CareCredit, and the office accepts cash, check and credit (financing).

Recovery

  • Several days off work, perhaps until stitches are removed at four to five days (blepharoplasty).
  • Eyes may be sensitive to light at first and may tear or feel dry.
  • Swelling and discoloration of the eyelids occur; makeup can cover discoloration after the stitches come out.
  • Sun exposure to bruised areas can cause permanent discoloration, so eyes should be shielded outdoors.
  • Incisions generally heal to be almost unnoticeable.
