Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. Excess skin and tissue are removed, with incisions along the lid crease so the scar is hidden when the eyes are open (source).
- Lower blepharoplasty. Incisions are made along the lash line in most cases, or inside the lower eyelid; fat is removed or repositioned, underlying muscles are tightened and excess skin is removed. Laser treatment for discoloration and dermal fillers can be added (source).
- The surgery is outpatient, under local or general anesthesia, and takes one to two hours.
- Brow lift. The brow lift page names Dr. Furnas and describes traditional (open), trichophytic and temporal (lateral) incisions and an endoscopic forehead lift (source).
The practice eyelid and brow galleries credit their labeled cases to Dr. Culbertson and Dr. Canales; no case is credited to Dr. Furnas. The practice site has no separate page for ptosis repair, double eyelid surgery or canthoplasty.
Other procedures
Her bio lists mommy makeovers, breast augmentation, tummy tucks, facelifts and labiaplasty among her procedures; Allegro MedSpa offers injectables, CoolSculpting, laser treatments and miraDry (source).
Insurance and cost
- The eyelid lift page states that cost depends on upper, lower or combined surgery and is estimated at consultation; no eyelid price is published (source).
- Brow lift: "Typically the cost for a brow lift is in the range of $7,000 to $12,000" (source).
- Financing through Cherry, PatientFi and CareCredit (financing).
- The site makes no statement about insurance or Medicare coverage for eyelid surgery.
Recovery
- Most patients need about one week of downtime; redness, swelling and bruising are treated with cold compresses (source).
- Most patients return to normal activities within 1-2 weeks; strenuous activity is avoided for at least 3-4 weeks (source).
- Swelling may obscure the result for several months; results can last a decade or longer.
- Brow lift: typical recovery around 2-3 weeks (source).
