- Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
- Member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and the American Medical Association.

- The site states he has performed more than 3,000 eyelid procedures. Publications include facelift and CO2 laser resurfacing chapters and papers written with Stephen W. Perkins.
Eyelid surgery work
- Upper eyelids. A small incision in the upper eyelid crease; excess skin and fat are removed and fine sutures placed. The page lists about 30 minutes of operating time.
- Lower eyelids. An incision along the lash line or in the smile crease; excess fat and skin are removed to reduce bags. The page lists 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Brow lift. Short incisions behind the hairline with a small camera (endoscopic); forehead skin and muscles are lifted and secured.
- Anesthesia. Local anesthesia or sedation, with same-day discharge from the practice's accredited on-site surgery center.
- Upper and lower eyelid surgery are often done at one sitting and can be combined with a brow lift or facelift. The page states the practice rarely lifts the brow in men.
- When vision is the main problem, Dr. Sandel refers patients to a surgeon who focuses on functional eyelid surgery.

Other procedures
Dr. Sandel's face menu includes facelift, chin and neck liposuction, cheek and chin implants, subnasal lip lift, otoplasty, Mohs reconstruction, CO2 laser resurfacing and injectables, plus primary and revision rhinoplasty and septoplasty (source). Claire Duggal, MD performs the practice's breast and body surgery.
Insurance and cost
- Insurance covers eyelid surgery only when medically necessary, "when the upper eyelid skin falls well over the lashes and covers the pupil." Dr. Sandel focuses on cosmetic eyelid surgery, which insurance does not cover.
- Published fees, for both eyes, current as of September 2026: upper eyelids about $7,000; lower eyelids about $7,300; upper and lower together about $13,000; endoscopic brow lift alone about $6,000.
- Patients receive a written, itemized quote at consultation. Financing is available. The practice owns its surgery center, so no outside facility charge is added.
Recovery
- Sutures out: day 5 for eyelid surgery, day 7 for brow lift.
- Swelling and bruising: normal for the first week, gone within a few weeks.
- Back to work: most patients return within 5 to 7 days.
- Exercise: strenuous activity resumes after about ten days.
- Eye makeup: avoid for at least 10 to 14 days.
- Results: an eyelid lift can last 10 to 15 years or more; a brow lift typically 10 years or longer.
