Eyelid surgery work
- Blepharoplasty. Surgery on the upper lids, lower lids or both. Dr. Kitto makes an incision along the natural eyelid crease to remove excess skin, muscle and fat; lower blepharoplasty removes excess fat deposits. It is an outpatient same-day procedure (source).
- In-office eyelid lift. Upper blepharoplasty may be performed in the office "under local anesthesia only," without general anesthesia. Patients need a designated driver (source).
- Male eyelid surgery. Crease incision to remove skin and fat, with local anesthesia applied before surgery (source).
- Ptosis repair. Listed among her fellowship training (source).
The eyelid gallery shows about 47 before-and-after cases, all credited to Dr. Kitto (source). Case write-ups list upper and lower blepharoplasty, fat grafting or fat transposition, endoscopic and direct brow lift, ptosis correction and lateral canthopexy, often combined.
Other procedures
The endoscopic brow lift uses three to five short incisions behind the hairline and takes no more than two hours (source). An in-office brow lift uses small incisions above the eyebrow after numbing medication (source). The site also lists facelift, neck lift, ear surgery, lip lift, buccal fat removal, breast and body surgery, hair transplantation, skin treatments and injectables, including tear trough injections.
Insurance and cost
- A blog post by Dr. Kitto states eyelid surgery is considered cosmetic and is not covered by most health insurance companies, and gives a typical Richmond cost of $2,000 to $5,000, with an average of $4,000 (blepharoplasty recovery blog).
- The financing page states cosmetic surgery is usually not covered by insurance and lists Cherry, PatientFi and CareCredit for procedures of $2,000 or more (financing).
- The site makes no statement about Medicare.
