Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. Incision inside the upper eyelid crease, excess skin excised, closed with sutures, about one hour, under local anesthesia with possible sedation (source).
- Lower blepharoplasty. Most common approach is transconjunctival, removing fat through the inside of the lower eyelid, a skin pinch to tighten lower eyelid skin, and periorbital fat grafting to fill hollowing (source).
- Brow lift. Page describes correcting a heavy, downward-drifting brow (source).
- No ptosis repair, canthoplasty, double eyelid surgery or revision eyelid pages found on the site.
Other procedures
The site lists facelift, deep plane facelift, mid-facelift, neck lift, rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty, ear surgery, facial implants, facial reanimation, facial reconstruction, lip lift and structural fat grafting under Face, plus a full breast and body practice (site navigation).
Insurance and cost
- "Blepharoplasty is considered a cosmetic procedure and is not covered by insurance," unless performed to address a medical vision issue (source).
- Upper eyelid surgery: $5,000-$7,000. Lower eyelid surgery: $6,000-$12,000, depending on approach and associated procedures (source).
Recovery
- Upper blepharoplasty: sutures removed at the one-week follow-up; avoid intense activity for about one week; swelling and bruising helped by cool compresses (source).
- Lower blepharoplasty: swelling and bruising can last around two weeks, after which most patients go out in public with makeup (source).
