Eyelid surgery work
- Upper eyelid surgery. Described as removing excess fat, tightening loose muscles and removing excess tissue from sagging, wrinkled upper lids. Where skin hangs over the upper lid, some patients may see improved vision (blepharoplasty).
- Lower eyelid surgery. Called eye bag surgery on the page; a small incision is made so excess fat can be removed.
- The page states the surgery works by redistributing fat and muscle and, when necessary, removing excess skin, with incisions "in the natural folds or even from the inside of your eyelids."
- Dr. Wagner may recommend a brow lift instead of, or in addition to, eyelid surgery; laser skin resurfacing and facelift are listed as complementary procedures.
- Forehead (brow) lift. Usually done with a surgical endoscope through several small incisions just behind the hairline; a larger incision across the top of the head may be used when much wrinkled skin must be removed (source).
The eyelid gallery shows cases of eyelid lift combined with brow lift and facelift (eyelid gallery); the brow lift gallery shows the same combination (brow gallery).
Other procedures
The site lists facelift, neck lift, breast surgery, body contouring and surgery after weight loss, and skin cancer reconstruction.
Insurance and cost
The site publishes no price. Eyelid surgery cost depends on the type of blepharoplasty and any added procedures and is given at consultation. Financing through CareCredit, ALPHAEON and Cherry is listed (source; financing). The site makes no statement about insurance coverage for eyelid surgery.
Recovery
- Eyelid surgery: some swelling and bruising; most patients need around two weeks before resuming most normal daily activities (blepharoplasty).
- Brow lift: around two weeks before normal activities; makeup after about 10 to 14 days; results typically last 10 to 15 years (source).
- Smokers must quit at least six weeks before a brow lift.
