Eyelid surgery work
- Upper eyelid lift. Incisions within the natural upper-lid crease; excess skin is removed, underlying tissue tightened and, when needed, small pockets of fat repositioned (source).
- Lower eyelid surgery. Incisions just below the lower lash line or inside the eyelid; excess fat is removed or redistributed and loose skin tightened.
- Procedure. Same-day surgery under general anesthesia, usually 1 to 2 hours, at the accredited in-office B.LĒV Surgery Center. An opioid-free or reduced-opioid approach is offered to patients sensitive to narcotics.
- BOTOX may be suggested with eyelid surgery for crow's feet; fillers, Sciton laser and EXION treatments are listed as nonsurgical options.
The eyelid surgery gallery shows six before-and-after cases (source). The site has no page for brow lift, ptosis repair, double eyelid surgery or canthoplasty.
Other procedures
The site lists breast and body surgery, labiaplasty, double chin liposuction, surgical mole removal and SpaVie medical spa treatments.
Insurance and cost
- "Eyelid lifts are generally considered cosmetic procedures and are therefore not typically covered by insurance." If the procedure is medically necessary, such as impaired vision from drooping upper eyelids, some or all costs may be covered (source).
- No price is published; a cost estimate is given at consultation, and financing is discussed (financing).
Recovery
- Back to work: most people take 5 to 7 days off work and normal activities.
- Exercise: no strenuous exercise, heavy lifting or bending over for at least 2 to 3 weeks; light walking is encouraged.
- Sleep with the head elevated for the first 1 to 2 weeks.
- Swelling and bruising: most resolve within 1 to 2 weeks.
- Sun: protect the eyelid skin from direct sun for at least 6 months.
- Final result: around 3 months; results last up to 10 years or longer, per the page.
