Eyelid surgery work

Single-surgeon practice; all procedure descriptions on the site are attributed to Dr. Cole. Eyelid, brow lift, otoplasty and periorbital-implant content sit on one long procedures page with no per-procedure anchor links.

  • Blepharoplasty (upper and lower eyelid surgery). Upper lid: incision marked along the natural crease, excess fat repositioned or removed, loose muscle and skin excised. Lower lid: excess fat, muscle and skin trimmed; a transconjunctival approach (incision inside the lower eyelid, no external sutures) is used when puffiness is caused mainly by excess fat (source).
  • Eyelid surgery revision. Addresses excess skin, drooping eyelids or asymmetry after a prior blepharoplasty.
  • Forehead and brow lift. Endoscopic (small hairline incisions with a scope), traditional (longer incisions), in-office (local anesthesia, lateral brow), and male brow lift (uses the eyebrow hairline to camouflage the incision); often combined with upper eyelid surgery.
  • Facial implants (periorbital). Implants placed through an incision inside the eyelid or through the lower-eyelid skin in a wrinkle line, often combined with lower-lid blepharoplasty.

Other procedures

The same page also covers the deep plane extended facelift, neck lift, mini facelift, temporal excision (lateral brow) lift, buccal fat pad removal, lip lift, rhinoplasty, chin and cheek implants, Renuvion/Helium plasma resurfacing, otoplasty, fat grafting and nano fat grafting, and revision rhinoplasty and facelift. Surgery is performed at Merit Health Woman's Hospital.

Insurance and cost

"Our practice does not file insurance claims, but we do accept Medicare for eyelid, brow, otoplasty, and rhinoplasty procedures" (source). No price figures are published for any procedure.

Recovery statements for blepharoplasty: permanent stitches removed three to six days after surgery, self-absorbing stitches dissolve on their own, and swelling and bruising are normal. For a brow lift: swelling and bruising for about 10 days, possibly including the cheek and eye area; sutures removed 7-10 days; bandages (if used) removed in 1-3 days; most patients recover within two weeks, with strenuous activity avoided longer.
