Eyelid surgery work
- Eyelid surgery overview. Performed in-office under local anesthesia; surgery takes 1-2 hours. Incisions close with absorbable sutures or biological glues (source).
- Upper blepharoplasty. The incision is placed in the natural crease of the upper eyelid; excess skin and bulging fat are removed, and in some cases a small portion of the orbicularis oculi muscle. The page states it can be done under local or general anesthesia and combined with a brow lift (source).
- Lower blepharoplasty. The main eyelid page describes an incision just below the lash line, tightening of the lower eyelid ligaments, and repositioning of fat pouches to treat a deep tear trough. The lower blepharoplasty page describes an incision behind the lower eyelid to reach and sculpt the fat pads (source).
- Eyelid surgery for men. A separate page covers upper and lower lid blepharoplasty for male patients (source).
- Brow lift. Dr. Mesa performs endoscopic brow lift through three incisions of about ½ inch at the hairline, and a biplanar endoscopic variation with a hairline incision for severe brow descent. The page states he does not perform the coronal brow lift (source).
