Eyelid surgery work
- Blepharoplasty. Removes fat, usually with excess skin and muscle, from the upper and lower eyelids; incisions follow the natural eyelid lines, in the upper-lid crease and just below the lower lashes, sometimes extending into the crow's feet. Performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia with sedation, usually 1 to 2 hours, at the practice's accredited ambulatory surgery center. Can add an upper-eyelid crease for Asian eyes (source).
- Transconjunctival blepharoplasty. Incision on the inside of the lower eyelid, for a fat pocket with no skin to remove, leaving no visible scar; typically used on younger patients with thicker, more elastic skin (same page).
- Brow lift (forehead lift). Removes or alters the muscles and tissue causing forehead furrowing or brow drooping, by a conventional hairline incision or an endoscopic technique (source).
