Eyelid surgery work
- Eyelid lift (blepharoplasty). The page states an eyelid lift may apply to one or both upper lids, one or both lower lids, or any combination. It can be cosmetic, and it can also help patients whose vision is partially obscured by a drooping lid (source).
- The procedure is outpatient, under local anesthesia with sedation, or general anesthesia when combined with other procedures, and takes one to three hours.
- Upper lid: the incision sits in the natural crease, to remove redundant skin and tighten the lid. Lower lid: the incision runs along the lash line, to excise loose skin and remove and redistribute fat and muscle.
- Brow lift. Three techniques are described: an endoscopic lift with three to five short incisions; a hairline (mid-scalp) lift for patients with a high forehead; and a lateral lift with incisions behind the hairline at the temples. A brow lift can be done with eyelid surgery or a facelift.
The eyelid gallery holds about 36 patient cases labeled by procedure and time after surgery, including upper blepharoplasty, quad blepharoplasty with canthopexy and brow lift, upper blepharoplasty with ptosis repair, upper and lower blepharoplasty with fat transposition, and upper blepharoplasty with fat transfer under the eye (source). The site has no separate page for ptosis repair, canthoplasty or double eyelid surgery.
Other procedures
The face menu also lists facelift, neck lift and otoplasty, with breast and body surgery, injectables, skin services, medical weight loss and hormone therapy elsewhere on the site (source).
Insurance and cost
- The brow lift FAQ states these procedures "are considered elective and would not be covered by health insurance" (source).
- No eyelid surgery price is published. New surgical consultations carry a $100 fee applied toward the total, and a 20% scheduling deposit reserves a surgery date (source).
- Financing: Cherry, PatientFi, Alphaeon, United Credit and CareCredit (financing).
Recovery
The site states recovery facts for brow lift only (source):
- Back to work: patients are advised to be home from work for 2 to 4 weeks while swelling and bruising lessen.
- Activity: expect 2 to 4 weeks of recovery; avoid heavy lifting and strenuous physical activity.
- Scars are hidden within the hairline.
