Eyelid surgery work
- Setting. Eyelid surgery is outpatient, usually under IV anesthetic and sedation; some limited eyelid procedures are done in the office under local anesthesia. Consultations may use Canfield Mirror imaging software to simulate results.
- Upper blepharoplasty. An incision in the upper eyelid crease; loose skin and, if needed, fat are removed, and muscle laxity or excess bulk can be addressed.
- Lower blepharoplasty. An incision under the lower eyelashes or on the underside of the lower eyelid (transconjunctival blepharoplasty). Excess fat or loose skin is removed and surrounding muscles adjusted.
- Tear troughs. Dr. Grant creates a pocket at the top of the cheekbone and repositions fat to restore volume and soften under-eye circles.
- Fine lines. A lower eyelid "skin pinch," done under local anesthetic without sedation when performed alone.
- Laser resurfacing may be suggested after eyelid surgery for fine lines on the eyelid skin.
- Brow lift. Most brow lifts are endoscopic, through no more than five small incisions in the hairline. A traditional brow lift uses an ear-to-ear incision behind the hairline or in deep forehead creases above the brows (source).
- Galleries. The eyelid gallery lists 28 eyelid surgery cases (eyelid gallery); a separate brow lift gallery shows brow lift cases (brow lift gallery).
The site has no separate page for ptosis repair, double eyelid surgery or canthoplasty.
Other procedures
The site lists face and neck lift, mini facelift, chin augmentation, ear surgery, rhinoplasty, fractionated laser skin resurfacing and fat grafting; skin cancer reconstruction, facial trauma and nasal breathing surgery; and Botox, Jeuveau, fillers, laser and microneedling (source).
Insurance and cost
- The practice gives a specific pricing quote at the eyelid surgery consultation and explains financing such as CareCredit and Shorr Solutions (source).
- The eyelid Q&A states cost depends on the procedure and technique and is discussed at consultation (source).
- The site publishes no eyelid surgery prices and makes no statement on insurance or Medicare coverage for eyelid surgery.
Recovery

- Exercise: avoid sports and exercise for about three weeks.
- Swelling: cool compresses for about the first three days; head elevated for a couple of weeks.
- Final result: a few weeks to see final results; external scars mature for a full year.
