Eyelid surgery work
- Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty). Performed on the upper lids, lower lids or both, as an outpatient procedure in the on-site Baton Rouge surgery center under a local anesthetic with an oral sedative (eyelid surgery).
- Upper eyelid incisions are placed within the natural crease. Lower eyelid incisions are placed inside the lid (transconjunctival) to reach fat, muscle and skin and are closed with dissolvable sutures; the page calls this a "scarless" technique.
- The page includes a table separating concerns treated by eyelid surgery (lids folding over the crease, puffy under-eye bags, impaired peripheral vision) from those treated by brow lift (hooding at the outer corners, sagging brows).
- Brow lift. Performed through 2 to 3 small incisions in the hairline under local or general anesthesia (brow lift).
- Gallery. Cases credited to Dr. Weiler include upper blepharoplasty, lower blepharoplasty, quad blepharoplasty, lower blepharoplasty with fat grafting, quad blepharoplasty with fat grafting, and lower eyelid surgery with full-face CO2 laser and fat grafting (eyelid gallery).
Other procedures
His bio lists facelift, deep plane facelift, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, lift, reduction and revision, mommy makeover, tummy tuck, liposuction, Brazilian butt lift, arm and thigh lift, upper body lift, labiaplasty and Renuvion (source).
Insurance and cost
- The pricing page lists "Eyelid Surgery $4,700 to $9,000" and "Brow Lift Starts at $8,700" (pricing).
- The eyelid page states cost depends on upper or lower lids or both, anesthetic and location, and that a detailed quote follows consultation. Financing is offered.
- The site says nothing about insurance or Medicare coverage for eyelid surgery.
Recovery
- Ice packs and sleeping propped up for the first 2 to 3 days.
- First post-op check a day or two after surgery.
- Upper lid sutures removed 5 to 7 days post-op; lower lid sutures are absorbable.
- Return to work and normal activities typically within 3 to 5 days; eye makeup after 5 to 10 days; no contact lenses for 2 to 3 weeks.
- No bending over, strenuous exercise or heavy lifting for the first few weeks.
