Eyelid surgery work
- The page lists the concerns treated: loose or sagging upper eyelid skin, under-eye bags or puffiness, vision obstructed by overhanging skin, and wrinkled or crepey lower eyelid skin.
- Upper eyelid surgery. Incisions in the natural crease of the upper lid; fat is removed or repositioned; incisions are closed with fine sutures.
- Lower eyelid surgery. An incision just below the lower lash line or inside the eyelid; fat pads are adjusted to reduce puffiness and skin is tightened as needed.
- Upper and lower surgery can be done alone or together. Surgery takes one to two hours under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia.
- Candidates are in good general health, do not smoke or can stop temporarily, and have droopy upper lids, puffy under-eyes or vision affected by sagging skin.
- Risks listed: dry eyes, temporary blurred vision, asymmetry and mild scarring.
