Eyelid surgery work

  • Upper blepharoplasty. Corrects drooping upper lids that may interfere with vision.
  • Lower blepharoplasty. Removes fat, skin and tissue to correct puffiness in the lower lids.
  • Asian eyelid surgery. A type of upper blepharoplasty that creates a crease where none existed.
  • Ptosis. The page describes tightening of the levator muscle, with excess fat and tissue removed and fine sutures; it is an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia lasting less than an hour for both eyes. Sutures are removed about three days after surgery.
  • Ectropion. An incision at the outside corner of the eyelid; the lower eyelid is shortened, tightened and reattached, and extra skin or fat removed, under local anesthesia.
  • Before surgery, patients stop smoking at least 4 to 6 weeks ahead and may need lab testing.
  • Brow lift. Two approaches: an incision along or behind the hairline with removal of excess forehead tissue, and an endoscopic approach through several small scalp incisions. Normal activity resumes in about 2 weeks (source).
  • Separate pages cover eyelid surgery and brow lift for men.

Gallery: the eyelid gallery shows 15 cases on its first page, with a second page (source).

The site has no separate page for ptosis repair, canthoplasty or revision eyelid surgery, and no brow lift gallery.

Other procedures

Face pages cover facelift, deep plane facelift, MACS lift, neck lift, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, chin augmentation, buccal fat removal and Ultherapy. The site also offers breast and body surgery, and non-surgical treatments at Wunderbar Medspa (kormanmd.com).

Insurance and cost

  • "Most health insurance companies do not cover the cost of cosmetic surgery." If vision is obstructed by a drooping eyelid or excess upper lid fat and skin, blepharoplasty may be covered (source).
  • The site publishes no eyelid surgery price. Costs and payment plans are discussed at consultation, and the practice partners with financing companies.

Recovery

  • Lids feel tight and tender; watery, itchy eyes, light sensitivity and blurry vision are common for a few days.
  • Sutures out: within 5 to 10 days.
  • Back to work: most patients resume social contact and work at around 10 to 14 days.
  • Swelling and bruising: mild, for several weeks; appearance continues to improve over several months.
