Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. Incision along the natural upper-lid crease; excess skin or fat removed and the incision closed with sutures (source).
- Lower blepharoplasty. Incision just below the lower lashes or inside the lower eyelid; fat removed or adjusted and skin tightened (same page). "Quad blepharoplasty" (combined upper and lower surgery) is also offered.
- Ptosis repair. A combination of resectioning, tightening and repositioning of the eyelid-opening muscles through a single incision hidden in the eyelid fold, for congenital, age-related or injury-related ptosis (source).
- Asian (double) eyelid surgery. Creates an eyelid crease via a small upper-lid incision, with three fold-design options: infold (subtler, closer to the inner corner), outfold (more prominent), and in-outfold (hybrid); may include medial epicanthoplasty (source).
- Brow lift. Dr. Kang uses an endoscopic (less invasive) approach "whenever possible," with small, strategically placed, hidden incisions (source).
Other procedures
Dermal fillers, neurotoxin (Botox-type) treatment, lid retraction repair, entropion repair, ectropion repair, thyroid eye disease, eyelid lesion/skin cancer treatment, chalazion/hordeolum, Bell's palsy/lagophthalmos, hemifacial spasm, and minimally invasive treatments (Morpheus8, Lumecca IPL, Envision by InMode) (source).
Insurance and cost
The practice site has no insurance or Medicare coverage statement.
Recovery
- Swelling/bruising. Blepharoplasty: most bruising fades within 2 weeks, swelling within 4 weeks (source).
- Back to work. Blepharoplasty: plan for 10-14 days of downtime, avoiding bending, heavy lifting or straining (same page). Ptosis repair: about 7 to 10 days off work (source). Asian blepharoplasty: about 10-14 days of downtime, avoiding bending, lifting or exercise (source).
- Bruising. Ptosis repair swelling/bruising are most notable in the first few days and mostly resolve after a week (ptosis-repair page).
- Final result. Brow lift results settle at about 6 months and typically last about 10 to 12 years (source).
