Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. The page describes removing excess skin and fat that cause sagging upper eyelids. The surgery takes about 1.5 hours and can be done under general anesthesia or local anesthesia alone. Incisions are placed in the folds of the upper lid (eyelid surgery).
- Preparation may include general health and eyesight exams, and stopping blood-thinning medications, herbal remedies and supplements. A driver and a 24-hour companion are required.
- The page states most patients keep results for at least 7 to 10 years.
- Brow lift. The brow lift page lists four types: endoscopic, direct, temporal and trichophytic. The trichophytic brow lift uses a zig-zag incision just inside the hairline and is "the preferred method of Dr. Gusching." The procedure takes one to two hours under anesthesia, and brow lift can be combined with eyelid surgery or laser resurfacing (brow lift).
