Eyelid surgery work
The practice's eyelid page describes these procedures (source):
- Upper eyelids. Excess skin and potentially fat are removed through an incision along the natural crease of the eyelid.
- Lower eyelids. Fat under the lower lid is removed or redistributed. Incisions are placed just below the lash line or inside the lower eyelid, the transconjunctival approach.
- Eyelid surgery is often done with lid tightening, called canthopexy, or skin resurfacing.
- Upper and lower surgery can be done in one session; procedures take around 1-3 hours.
- Visual field testing may be ordered at consultation to assess functional limits from sagging lids.
- Brow lift. The brow lift page describes a conventional method with the incision hidden just behind the hairline and an endoscopic method through minimal incisions (source).
Galleries: the blepharoplasty gallery can be filtered by surgeon; six cases are labeled "Dr. Kalila Steen," including case 6569 (case 6569). The brow lift gallery has one case labeled with her name (source). The site has no page for ptosis repair, double eyelid surgery or revision eyelid surgery.
Other procedures
The practice offers facelift, neck lift, chin and neck liposuction, laser skin resurfacing, breast, body and reconstructive surgery including skin cancer and carpal tunnel release, plus med spa and wellness services (monarchps.com).
Insurance and cost
- The eyelid page states the staff "is available to help you navigate insurance coverage, payment plans, pricing, and more" (source).
- The FAQ states blepharoplasty is intended as a cosmetic procedure but can improve vision blocked by severely drooping eyelids.
- The practice lists contracted insurers including Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Cigna, Humana, Ambetter, MultiPlan and PHCS, and Medicare plans including Medicare, Humana Gold Plus and UnitedHealthcare Medicare. The list is practice-wide and does not name eyelid surgery (source).
- The site publishes no price; a quote follows consultation. Financing is offered through CareCredit.

- Back to regular activities: most individuals return within about 1-2 weeks.
- Rest: sleep on the back with the head elevated.
- Final result: may take several weeks to refine. Results often last five to ten years or longer.
