- Board certification: "board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery." He is an oral examiner for that board.
- Professor of Clinical Surgery, New York Medical College; former Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Westchester Medical Center.
- Past president of the New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgeons and the New York State Society of Plastic Surgeons.
- Opened his private practice in 2014. Received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2009 for humanitarian work and founded the non-profit Mission: Restore.
Eyelid surgery work
- NaturaLook eyelid surgery. The eyelid page states Dr. Alizadeh uses only this technique, which preserves or redistributes fat instead of removing it (source).
- Upper eyelid: an incision in the natural crease; extra skin is removed and the muscle preserved. Surgery takes one to two hours, typically under local anesthesia, and patients go home the same day.
- Lower eyelid: the lower lid ligaments are tightened, fat is repositioned and skin redraped. The page describes both the transconjunctival approach (incision inside the lid, no outside scar) and the subciliary approach (incision below the lashes to remove skin, muscle and fat).
- Double eyelid surgery: fat is reduced or repositioned to create a fold along the upper lid.
- Anesthesia is local or monitored, in an operating room certified by JCAHO or AAAASF; general anesthesia is available on request or with combined procedures.
- The page states he has performed over 1,000 upper face rejuvenation procedures.
- NaturaBrow brow lift. A short-scar brow lift that releases and secures the lifted fascia of the forehead, takes less than an hour, and may add fat grafting and exosomes (source).
Galleries:
- Eyelid: 10 before-and-after cases, described on the eyelid page as actual patients of Dr. Alizadeh (source).
- Brow lift: 9 NaturaBrow cases (naturabrow).
Other procedures
He also performs facelift, deep plane facelift, neck lift, rhinoplasty, breast surgery including the NaturaBra breast lift, tummy tuck, liposuction, migraine surgery, breast reconstruction, hair restoration and injectables (source; doctoralizadeh.com).
Insurance and cost
- The eyelid page quick-facts box states "The surgeon's fee starts at $5,000," excluding surgery center and anesthesia fees. The cost section and FAQ state NaturaLook eyelid surgery "starts at $6,000" (source).
- NaturaBrow brow lift "starts at $9,000" (source).
- Insurance: if medically necessary, functional eyelid surgery can be covered because it removes heavy skin that interferes with the line of sight.
- Staff verify benefits, pre-authorize surgery and manage claims; the practice offers low-interest financing (source).
Recovery
- Back to work: about one week off for bruising and swelling to fade (source).
- Sleep on the back for one to two weeks.
- Exercise and sun exposure: avoid for three to four weeks.
- Sutures are removed at a follow-up appointment, or absorbable sutures or biological glue are used.
- Results: upper eyelid results last about 5-7 years; lower eyelid results are essentially permanent.
