Eyelid surgery work
- Blepharoplasty. The practice performs upper eyelid surgery, lower eyelid surgery, or both, under general or local anesthesia. Upper blepharoplasty removes excess skin, muscle and sometimes fat through a small incision in the natural eyelid crease. Lower blepharoplasty removes or repositions fat, skin and muscle to treat under-eye bags, tear troughs and sagging skin, typically through an incision inside the lower eyelid. CO2 laser resurfacing around the eyes can be added to treat fine lines (source).
- The page states the procedure typically takes 1-3 hours at the practice's accredited surgery center, and that it may improve eyelid function and visual field "in cases of severe upper eyelid ptosis."
- Brow lift. Described as elevating the eyebrows by removing excess skin, tightening underlying muscles and repositioning the brows. It is a same-day surgery that typically takes 2-4 hours (source).
- A practice blog post quotes Dr. Crofts on a study of upper eyelid incisions used to treat migraine headaches (source).
