Eyelid surgery work
- Eyelid lift (blepharoplasty). The practice page describes removing excess skin, fat and muscle around the eyelids. For the upper lid, the incision runs along the natural crease to remove skin and fat and reduce hooding. For the lower lid, the incision sits just below the lash line to remove or reposition fat, smooth under-eye bags and tighten skin. The page states an eyelid lift may improve peripheral vision when sagging skin blocks the line of sight (source).
- A practice blog post states the eyelid lift is performed under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation, with the lower incision placed below the lashes or on the inside of the lower lid (blog: eyelid lift). A second post states blepharoplasty is often combined with forehead lifts, facelifts and skin resurfacing (blog: what is blepharoplasty).
- Brow lift. Surgeons may use several small incisions in the hairline or one incision in the crease of each upper eyelid to raise the forehead tissues (source).
