Eyelid surgery work
- Upper eyelid blepharoplasty. Incision within the natural crease of the upper eyelid allows repositioning of fat deposits, tightening of muscle and tissue, and/or removal of excess skin (source).
- Lower eyelid blepharoplasty. Incision just below the lower lash line removes excess skin in the lower eyelids (same page).
- Transconjunctival incision. An alternate technique hidden inside the lower eyelid, used to redistribute or remove excess fat (same page).
- A laser chemical peel may be used to address dark discoloration of the lower eyelids (same page).
- Incisions are closed with removable or absorbable sutures, skin adhesives, or surgical tape (same page).
Other procedures
The practice offers brow lift, chin surgery, fat grafting to the face, ear surgery, facelift, facial implants and lip procedures, along with breast and body procedures and non-surgical skin treatments (source).
Insurance and cost
The site states most health insurance does not cover cosmetic eyelid surgery or its complications, but "when eyelid surgery is performed to eliminate the redundant skin covering the eyelashes, it may be covered by insurance." No dollar price is published; the page lists cost components generically (surgeon's fee, facility costs, anesthesia, prescriptions, medical tests).
Recovery
- Final result. Results appear within several weeks, but incision lines may take up to a year to fully refine (source).
- Swelling. Initial healing may include swelling, bruising, irritation or dry eyes, controlled with medication, cold compresses and ointment (same page).
