Eyelid surgery work
Plastic Surgery Associates is a four-surgeon practice (Renucci, Krebiehl, Aitken, Vander Woude); the eyelid surgery and brow lift pages are shared practice pages not attributed to a specific surgeon.
- Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty). Upper lid: incision in the natural crease to remove or reposition fat, tighten muscle, and remove excess skin. Lower lid: incision inside the lower eyelid to remove or redistribute excess fat. Performed under IV sedation or local anesthesia (source).
- Forehead and brow lift. Describes an endoscopic technique using three to five small hairline incisions and a camera, performed under IV sedation or general anesthesia (source).
Other procedures
The practice also lists ear surgery, face and neck lift, nose reshaping, submental liposuction and CO2 laser resurfacing under Face; breast augmentation, lift, reduction, reconstruction and asymmetry correction; body contouring (arm lift, back lift, Brazilian butt lift, liposuction, body lift, tummy tuck); and hand surgery, none attributed to a specific surgeon on the general procedure pages.
Insurance and cost
"It is possible that eyelid surgery is covered by insurance if the procedure is deemed medically necessary. Patients receiving eyelid surgery to improve blurry vision may have their procedure covered by insurance but others receiving surgery for cosmetic reasons will often not be covered" (face/eyelid-surgery FAQ). No price figures are published on the eyelid or brow lift pages.
Recovery statements: most people can read or watch television after 2-3 days; sutures usually removed within one week; return to work and most daily activities (except strenuous exercise) after 1-2 weeks; results visible after 4-6 weeks once swelling resolves; scars may stay pink for about six months before fading.
