Eyelid surgery work
The Procedures page covers "Plastic Surgery of the Eyelids (Blepharoplasty or Simply Bleph)" as one general section, not split into separate upper- and lower-eyelid pages (procedures). It states the surgery can remove excess skin from baggy lids and excess fat from puffy lids, is tailored to the individual (some patients need only lower or only upper lid work, some only skin removed, some only fat), and will not improve crow's feet, droopy eyebrows, scowl lines or hoods drooping from the outer eyelid corner. Scars fall along the lower lash line or upper eyelid crease and become imperceptible within a few weeks; when only fat is removed from the lower lids, the incision can be made inside the eyelid, leaving no visible scar but delaying recovery through more swelling.
Recovery details given for blepharoplasty: surgery lasts 1.5-2 hours, performed in a hospital, usually under sedation or general anesthesia though local anesthesia is possible, outpatient. Swelling and bruising improve within 3-14 days, with ice compresses instructed for 1-3 days. Stitches are removed in 7 days; glasses may be worn immediately. Eye makeup may be worn in 10-14 days. Exercise may be resumed at 6 weeks.
The practice site has no before-and-after photo gallery.
Other procedures
The Procedures page also lists breast augmentation, breast lift, abdominoplasty, brachioplasty, dermabrasion, brow/forehead lift, otoplasty, skin cancer surgery, breast reduction, breast reconstruction, liposuction, Botox, gynecomastia surgery, and body contouring after massive weight loss, each with its own recovery details (procedures). The site also lists SkinMedica skin care products, Latisse, Juvederm and microdermabrasion.
Insurance and cost
The Cost page states the practice accepts Medicare assignment and participates in many insurance company plans, and instructs patients to confirm participation with their own insurer. A $100 consult fee applies for cosmetic appointments, credited toward surgery cost if the patient proceeds; a price quote is given after consult, valid 6 months, covering surgeon fee, facility and anesthesia fee, and implant or garment cost if required. Cosmetic fees are due in full three weeks before surgery. Surgery is performed at MercyOne Waterloo Hospital or Allen Hospital (cost). No blepharoplasty-specific price is published.
