Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. Removal of upper eyelid skin through an incision hidden in the natural eyelid fold, removal of bulging fat pads, or removal of overly developed muscle. Names an "anchor blepharoplasty" technique to adjust how the eyelid folds and hide excess skin. Notes eyebrow repositioning alone can sometimes refine eyelid appearance without eyelid surgery (source).
- Lower blepharoplasty. Lifting and removal of excess sagging skin and muscle, or removal of fat pouches; incision placed under the lash line when skin or muscle is addressed, or a transconjunctival incision inside the eyelid (no external scar) when only fat pads need removal. Describes support procedures for sagging lower lid rims with dry or tearing eyes, and combining fat removal with under-eye hollow filling.
- Ethnic eyelid lift. Describes preserving the upper eyelid fold for patients of Asian descent while still opening the eye, or creating a more sculpted lid when the fold is reduced.
- Brow lift. Repositions sagging brows to relieve a heavy, hooded upper lid, sometimes avoiding the need for an eyelid lift; can be combined with eyelid lift, facelift or neck lift (source).
