Eyelid surgery work
- Blepharoplasty. Upper and lower lids can be treated in one session. Incisions are placed in the upper lid crease or below the lower eyelashes; the transconjunctival approach places the lower lid incision inside the eyelid with no visible scar (blepharoplasty).
- Upper eyelid surgery is done as an office procedure under local anesthetic with sedation. General anesthesia is discussed when upper and lower surgery are combined. Patients go home the same day with someone to stay with them for 24 hours.
- The page states blepharoplasty does not treat crow's feet; other facial procedures may be recommended for them.
- Brow lift. The page describes a coronal incision across the top of the head within the hair, and an incision at the anterior hairline for women with very high foreheads so the hairline is not raised (brow lift).
- Dr. Powers performs all procedures in certified surgery centers (source).
Gallery: the blepharoplasty gallery shows 9 before-and-after cases, including an Asian double eyelid case, a transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty, a patient with no right upper lid crease before surgery, and an upper blepharoplasty with browlift (source). The site has no brow lift gallery and no separate page for ptosis repair, canthoplasty or revision eyelid surgery.
Other procedures
The site offers facelift, neck lift, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, lip lift, breast augmentation and lift, tummy tuck, liposuction, arm lift, NeoGraft hair restoration, Botox and fillers (procedures).
Insurance and cost
The eyelid and brow lift pages state no prices and say nothing about insurance or Medicare coverage. The fees page lists administrative fees of $150 or the total credit card fees, whichever is higher (fees and policies). The financing page says office staff help patients obtain financial assistance (financing).
Recovery
- Back to normal activities in about 5-7 days; heavy exertion and exercise avoided; sunglasses or makeup can hide swelling and discoloration (blepharoplasty).
- About 2-3 weeks after surgery the eyes should look more rested.
- Brow lift: swelling subsides in 2-4 weeks; final results within 1 or 2 months; incision lines fade for up to 1 year (brow lift).
