- Board certification as printed: "certified by the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery."
- Clinical Professor at University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, teaching surgical residents.
- Licensed in Kansas and Texas.
- He operates at his Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery Center, which the site states is certified by the State of Kansas, AAAASF and Medicare. He also operates at Kansas Surgery and Recovery Center, Surgicare of Wichita, Kansas Medical Center and Wesley Medical Center.
Eyelid surgery work
- Blepharoplasty can be done on the upper lids, lower lids or both. The page lists drooping upper lids that hood the eyes and impair vision, and drooping lower lids that show the whites of the eyes.
- Surgery is done under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. The upper lid incision sits in the natural crease. The lower lid incision is placed just below the lash line or on the inside of the lower lid.
- Dr. Conrad may reposition fat deposits, tighten the underlying muscles and tissues, and remove excess skin. The procedure takes one to three hours.
- Patients with brow sagging may be candidates for a forehead lift or a combined forehead and eyelid lift.
- Brow lift. Dr. Conrad makes incisions behind or, more commonly, along the hairline. In many cases lifting only the tail of the brow gives the improvement. A brow lift may be combined with facelift or eyelid surgery (brow lift).
- Galleries. The eyelid gallery shows one case (eyelid gallery), and the lower blepharoplasty gallery shows one case (lower blepharoplasty gallery).
The site has no page for ptosis repair, double eyelid surgery, canthoplasty or revision eyelid surgery.
Other procedures
The site lists facelift and neck lift, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, breast augmentation, lift and reduction, gynecomastia, abdominoplasty, liposuction, arm lift, body lift after weight loss and non-surgical treatments (photo gallery).
Insurance and cost
- The office files insurance claims for patients. Cosmetic surgery is not typically covered by health insurance and is paid in full before surgery (financing).
- The site publishes no eyelid prices. Low-interest financing and Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted.
Recovery
- Back to work: most patients return within five to seven days after eyelid surgery (eyelid surgery).
- Final result: results improve over the following weeks as swelling subsides.
- Brow lift: most swelling and bruising goes down within one week; work and light activity resume at one week; strenuous exercise waits several weeks (brow lift).
